Mountain Adventure as a Reflection of Team Values in Research

A recent hiking day in the Swiss mountains was much more than an outdoor activity. For members of the ETH Zürich laboratory, it was a meaningful opportunity to strengthen connections, engage in conversations beyond the usual work discussions, and share the remarkable beauty of the alpine landscape together.

Such shared experiences remind us of the importance of teamwork in science. Excellence in research goes hand in hand with openness, kindness, and genuine collaboration. These values form the foundation for successful scientific work and foster innovation in the laboratory.

The organizers and all colleagues who participated demonstrated that the strongest teams are built not only through shared scientific projects, but also through shared experiences and moments away from daily work. Such days remain memorable as symbols of a community where researchers support one another both professionally and personally, creating an environment where both breakthrough discoveries and meaningful human connections thrive.

We have united to prove that the connection exists and that the world is based on "Homo sapiens"
